Five ultra-luxury hotels debut worldwide in May 2026 for summer escapes
May 2026 will see the opening of several high-profile luxury hotels and resorts around the world. From a boutique Las Vegas retreat to a Tanzanian safari escape, travellers will have new options for summer getaways.
As the season for booking holidays approaches, these properties promise unique experiences at varying price points. In the Caribbean, ONE | GT will debut in Grand Cayman with 97 rooms and three dining venues. The hotel’s standout feature is the island’s only rooftop infinity-edge pool. Nightly rates will start at around $570.
On Rote Island in Indonesia, NIHI Rote will welcome guests with 21 villas and duplex estates. The resort doubles as a hospitality academy and is offering a ‘Stay in the Making’ promotion from May 1 to August 31, 2026.
For safari enthusiasts, Ubuyu, A Banyan Tree Escape opens in Tanzania with artisan-crafted villas overlooking the Great Ruaha River. This all-inclusive retreat will start at $2,400 per person, per night.
Meanwhile, The Vanderpump Hotel will bring a boutique vibe to Las Vegas with 188 rooms and suites. Opening rates are set from around $419 per night.
Finally, Sublime Sand, an expansion of Portugal’s Sublime Comporta, will add 43 villas alongside new dining, wellness, and social spaces. Each property offers a distinct experience, from urban luxury to remote wilderness. With openings timed for the start of the summer travel season, these hotels provide fresh choices for holidaymakers.
