Documentary film "Ozzy Osbourne: Coming Home," detailing the last three years of Black Sabbath frontman Ozzy Osbourne's life, will air on BBC this month.

In the world of rock and roll, few names resonate as deeply as Ozzy Osbourne. Known for his powerful vocals and enduring spirit, the British music icon sadly passed away at his Buckinghamshire home on July 22, 2025, following a cardiac arrest.

A documentary titled Ozzy Osbourne: Coming Home was initially scheduled to air on BBC One on August 18, 2025, but out of respect for the Osbourne family, the broadcast has been postponed, with the new date yet to be confirmed. This one-hour film offers an intimate glimpse into the final chapter of Ozzy's life, focusing on his return to the UK after 25 years in the United States.

Filmed over three years, the documentary captures the preparations for a significant show in Birmingham titled Back To The Beginning, which was Ozzy's final-ever concert, held on July 5 this year. The film features never-before-seen footage of Ozzy, his wife and manager Sharon, and two of their children, Kelly and Jack, as they navigate the challenges and joys of returning home.

The documentary includes family moments, humour, reflection, and showcases the enduring spirit that made Ozzy a global icon. It also delves into the health issues that led to Ozzy's retirement from touring in 2023, including his diagnosis with Parkinson's disease in 2020.

Clare Sillery, BBC Head of Commissioning, Documentaries, commented that the film captures an intimate journey of the Osbourne family as they prepare to return to the UK. She further stated that the documentary will bring comfort and joy to Ozzy's fans and viewers as they remember and celebrate his extraordinary life.

The documentary was initially commissioned as a series in 2022 but evolved into a one-hour film due to Ozzy's health issues. Tens of thousands of fans gathered to say farewell to Ozzy as the cortege made its way down Broad Street in the city centre, passing over the famous 'Black Sabbath Bridge' en route.

The BBC has stated that the family's wishes are being respected, with the new broadcast date to be confirmed later. The documentary is expected to air on BBC One and the BBC iPlayer streaming service in the UK.

Ozzy's final-ever concert, Back To The Beginning, was a poignant farewell for his fans, marking the end of an era in rock music. The documentary Ozzy Osbourne: Coming Home serves as a fitting tribute to a man who left an indelible mark on the genre and inspired generations of musicians.
