The man in the center is holding a food item in his hand, while the two men on either side of him are wearing masks. Behind them, there are tables and chairs, and in the background there are food items in a glass container, as well as televisions on the wall and lights on the ceiling. District food safety inspections uncover persistent hygiene violations in 2026

Food safety inspections in the district have revealed ongoing hygiene issues across local businesses. Authorities carried out a series of checks in early 2026, uncovering violations in multiple establishments. Despite the findings, no closures or recalls were necessary. In 2025, inspectors examined 240 businesses as part of routine checks. They also followed up on 22 previous cases and investigated 12 complaints. The team exceeded their annual target for risk-based inspections by more than double.

Violations were found in 47 establishments that year, mostly for hygiene and health protection failures. Inspectors issued 47 correction orders and later revisited each business to verify improvements.

The first quarter of 2026 saw 50 routine inspections, 3 complaint-based visits, and 7 follow-up checks. Out of 45 planned inspections, only 3 remain incomplete. During this period, 15 more businesses were flagged for similar hygiene problems.

The district oversees 243 food service establishments in total. General operational hygiene remained the most frequent issue, with 257 breaches recorded. No food recalls or business shutdowns resulted from the latest inspections. Authorities continue to monitor compliance and enforce corrections where needed. The focus remains on improving hygiene standards across all establishments.
