Davao's DSA Open Golf Tournament tees off for charity on May 30

The DSA Open Golf Tournament for a Cause will take place on May 30 at South Pacific Golf and Leisure Estates. Around 150 golfers from Davao City and neighbouring provinces are set to compete in the event. Organisers have confirmed that no international players will participate this year. The tournament will follow an individual play molave scoring handicap format with a shotgun start. Winners in the Class A, B, and C divisions will receive trophies instead of cash prizes. Registration costs P4,000 per player, covering giveaways, a buffet dinner, and raffle entry.

Sponsors have prepared raffle prizes, including Huawei Android watches and high-definition Bluetooth earphones. All proceeds will go to House of Hope, a Davao City health facility that supports children with cancer. Key figures will attend the event, with Department of Tourism (DOT) Davao regional director Tanya Rabat-Tan, Mindanao Development Authority (MinDA) chairperson Secretary Leo Magno, and Davao City Councilor Temujin Ocampo leading the ceremonial tee-off. The tournament also aims to boost golf development and sports tourism in the region.

The event will bring together local golfers while raising funds for a charitable cause. Participants will compete for trophies and stand a chance to win raffle prizes. Organisers hope the tournament will strengthen Davao City’s reputation as a sports tourism destination.
