Costa Blanca North Honors Trailblazers at XVIII CEDMA Awards
The XVIII CEDMA Awards have celebrated the achievements of businesses and individuals in Costa Blanca North. The ceremony, set for June 4 at the Denia Marriott, recognised innovation, sustainability, and community impact across the region.
Among the winners were companies leading in digital transformation, traditional craftsmanship, and healthcare solutions. The awards also highlighted the area’s expanding global influence and commitment to social wellbeing.
A panel of judges met in Denia to select the winners across multiple categories. Bodegas Trenza took home the sustainability prize for reviving a historic Benissa estate and protecting rare Moscatel vineyards. Their work preserves both heritage and agricultural traditions in the region.
Llobell Pesca earned the innovation award by adopting digital tools and sustainable fishing methods. The company’s modern approach ensures long-term environmental responsibility while improving efficiency. CLAVE Dénia, the force behind the ALE-HOP retail chain, received the Best Business Trajectory award. The jury acknowledged its rapid international growth alongside a strong local presence. Meanwhile, Cristina Sellés was given a special award for her role in boosting tourism and gastronomy in Marina Alta. In healthcare, Lady Johana Arenas Gaitán won for her final degree project. Her work focused on dog-assisted therapy to support elderly Alzheimer’s patients in the area. The project demonstrated practical benefits for both mental health and community care. The ceremony underscored Marina Alta’s rising profile as a hub for creative, socially conscious businesses. Many of the winners have gained recognition beyond Spain, reinforcing the region’s reputation for quality and innovation.
