Ben Stiller returns with Protective Custody and Focker-in-Law in 2024
Ben Stiller is returning to comedy with two new projects. He will star in Protective Custody, a fresh series about a fraudster facing prison life, and the next Meet the Parents film, Focker-in-Law, due out on November 25. A Netflix movie, A Matter of Time, is also in the works for the actor and producer.
The upcoming series Protective Custody follows a disgraced financier accused of major fraud as he navigates prison politics while awaiting trial. Stiller will take the lead role and serve as an executive producer. The show is a joint effort between Apple Studios, Red Hour, Propagate Content, and 3 Arts Entertainment.
Mike Judge, known for *Silicon Valley*, *Beavis and Butt-Head*, and *King of the Hill*, will direct the series. He will also co-write and co-showrun alongside Steve Hely and Dave King. Both Hely and King are represented by 3 Arts and Ginsburg Daniels Kallis. Stiller’s recent work with Apple includes directing and executive producing *Severance* and releasing *Stiller & Meara: Nothing Is Lost*. His return to the *Meet the Parents* franchise marks another high-profile role, with *Focker-in-Law* set for a November 25 release.
The new series and film confirm Stiller’s continued presence in comedy, both on screen and behind the scenes. Protective Custody will bring together experienced writers and producers, while Focker-in-Law revives a well-known franchise. Both projects are expected to draw attention from audiences and industry observers alike.
