Belinda Returns to Mexico, Travels from Spain for Estadio Banorte Reopening and Mexico vs. Portugal Match

Belinda stuns Mexico with surprise return and viral bus stunt

Belinda is back in Mexico after traveling from Spain to attend the grand reopening of the newly renamed Estadio Banorte and the match between the Mexican national team and Portugal. Along the way, the singer added a touch of humor to her stay, sharing a video where she playfully stages a robbery on a public transit bus.

When the pop star announced she was moving to Europe for a couple of months to film Carlota—the historical series in which "Beli" plays the lead role—many assumed we wouldn't hear from her for quite some time.

Yet, contrary to expectations, the singer and actress has already made two quick trips back to Mexico from Spain. The first was for "Mafer's" quinceañera celebration in Tabasco, where she was invited to perform "Happy Birthday," and now, for the high-profile soccer match between Mexico and Portugal.

This wasn't her only reason for visiting the capital. Belinda also reunited with Los Ángeles Azules, the group she previously collaborated with on the hit "Amor a Primera Vista," to film a new music video. Few details have been released, but footage from the shoot shows her sporting braided hair and urban streetwear, surrounded by smiling extras dancing and clapping.

After a packed day, "Beli" wrapped up her time in Mexico with a playful video set on a bus. Channeling the charismatic tone of her character Daniela from Mentiras, she jokingly demands valuables from the young passengers—who appear to be friends rather than actual riders (one of them is even addressed by name, Chema).

"You know the drill—wallets and phones, don't even think about it... your wallet, your wallet, Chema, give me your wallet! Phone... wallet... at least give me what you've got. This one looks like a Cartier!" she says, sparking laughter from everyone on board.

Even though the skit humorously references one of Mexico's most common crimes—affecting some 200,000 people annually, according to INEGI—her fans took it in stride, praising Belinda's authenticity and knack for surprises.
