Bamberg schools shut early as black ice grips the region

Bamberg schools shut early as black ice grips the region

The German Meteorological Service has issued a warning for severe black ice hazards. As a result, all classes in the city and district of Bamberg will be canceled as of 1 p.m. today, Monday, January 12, the Government of Upper Franconia and the Bamberg State School Office have announced.

Afternoon childcare services are also affected. Emergency care will be provided where necessary.

While daycare centers in Bamberg and the surrounding district cannot be ordered to close, parents are strongly advised to pick up their children as early as possible. Emergency care will be available if needed.
