Astana's PROFI DAY lets students test-drive future careers

A PROFI DAY exhibition in Astana recently gave schoolchildren the chance to try real-world tasks from various careers. Nearly 500 students attended the event, where they explored different professions through hands-on activities. The initiative aimed to help young people discover potential career paths in a practical setting. The exhibition was divided into 10 specialised zones, each focusing on a different industry. Fields such as culinary arts, construction, dentistry, IT, and media were represented, along with security services, tourism, auto repair, beauty, fashion design, and healthcare.

Most of the professionals leading the sessions were parents of the school’s students. They shared their expertise by demonstrating daily tasks and guiding children through interactive exercises. This approach not only introduced students to new skills but also built stronger connections between families and the school. By working alongside their parents, students gained firsthand experience in professions they might pursue in the future. The event’s structure encouraged engagement, allowing participants to ask questions and test their abilities in a supportive environment.

The PROFI DAY event strengthened ties between home and school while giving students a clearer picture of different careers. With nearly 500 children taking part, the exhibition provided practical insights into industries ranging from healthcare to fashion. Organisers hope the experience will help young people make more informed decisions about their future education and work.
