Allison Russell's In the Hour of Chaos Drops July 10 with Star-Studded Collaborations

Allison Russell will release her third solo album, In the Hour of Chaos, on July 10. The record follows her 2023 Americana Award-winning album The Returner and features collaborations with artists like Norah Jones and Brittney Spencer. Russell describes the project as a celebration of connection and resilience in difficult times. The album’s first single, Cold April, arrived earlier this year. It includes vocals from Kara Jackson, Denitia, and the Explore! Pop Choir. The track explores themes of hope and solidarity through music.

*In the Hour of Chaos* contains 11 songs, from the uplifting *Rainbows* to the reflective *No Springtime*. Most tracks feature guest appearances, with contributions from Joy Oladokun and others. Russell’s summer schedule is packed with live performances. From July 1 to August 9, she will open for Sarah McLachlan on a six-week tour. This follows previous support slots for Hozier and her Broadway role as Persephone in *Hadestown*. Her own headline shows in the U.S. and Canada begin on October 15.

The new album arrives as Russell continues to expand her reach in music and theatre. With a mix of solo work and high-profile collaborations, she remains focused on sharing messages of joy and unity. Fans can expect live performances throughout the summer and autumn.
