81-Year-Old Twitch Streamer GrammaCrackers Targeted in Terrifying Swatting Prank
An 81-year-old Twitch streamer known as GrammaCrackers became the target of a dangerous swatting prank on May 18. Armed officers raided Sue Jack’s home after an anonymous caller falsely reported a serious crime at her address. The incident unfolded live during her broadcast, shocking viewers and prompting a heavy police response. The swatting call came in on the evening of May 18, while Jack was streaming to her followers. Within minutes, around 20 police cars, five SWAT officers, and drones surrounded her house. Officers stormed inside, searched the property, and took her to the station for questioning.
Jack was released shortly afterward, unharmed but shaken. The next day, she returned to Twitch to reassure her audience. In her typical light-hearted manner, she joked about the ordeal, saying she had ‘met new people’ she otherwise wouldn’t have. Swatting—a hoax where false emergency reports trigger armed police responses—has targeted other streamers in the past. This time, the prank put an elderly woman at risk, drawing widespread criticism from her supporters and the wider gaming community.
The incident has left Jack’s followers relieved but concerned about the risks of swatting. Authorities have not yet identified the caller responsible for the false report. Jack, however, has made it clear she won’t let the experience stop her from streaming.
