YAKUTIA.INFO. At the first International Transport and Logistics Forum in St. Petersburg, Yakutia Railways JSC (ZhDYa) secured an agreement with Russia's Ministry of Transport to include the construction of the Nizhny Bestyakh–Magadan railway line in Russia's Transport Strategy through 2050, the company's press service reported.

The forum, organized by the Roscongress Foundation with support from the Russian government, took place from April 1 to 3 at the ExpoForum Convention and Exhibition Centre. The event brought together over 6,000 participants from 82 countries. The Yakutia delegation, led by regional Prime Minister Kirill Bychkov, included ZhDYa CEO Vasily Shimokhin, Executive Director Dmitry Kondratov, and Deputy Head of the company's Moscow office Yulia Ryasnova.

During a meeting with Deputy Transport Minister Alexey Shilo, the parties discussed the implementation of the international Northeast Transport Corridor project. They agreed on the need to incorporate the Nizhny Bestyakh–Magadan line into Russia's Transport Strategy through 2050, as well as further exploration of a bridge crossing over the Amur River near Dzhalinda (Russia)–Mohe (China).

Additionally, in a working meeting with Deputy Transport Minister Igor Kostyuchenko, Dmitry Kondratov presented the case for designing a combined road-and-rail corridor with bridge crossings over the Aldan and Amga rivers near the settlement of Khandyga (based on a proposal by the Institute for Development Economics and Transport).

"On the forum's final day, ZhDYa CEO Vasily Shimokhin held talks with Konstantin Khromushkin, Managing Director of the Railway Automation and Telecommunications Division at Natproektstroy Group, and Andrei Borodin, CEO of 1520 Signal LLC. They discussed further cooperation in building the Northeast Transport Corridor, as well as leveraging accumulated expertise in bridge and railway design," the press service summarized.
