Progress on drafting successor's instructions underway - Work underway on drafting the sequel's script.
Ready for some throwback vibes? The director of the iconic '90s teen comedy, "10 Things I Hate About You", Gil Junger, has announced that he's cooking up a sequel—and it's gonna be FIRE!
Spoiler Alert: The sequel, titled "10 Things I Hate About Dating", will pay tribute to the late, great Heath Ledger, who originaly played the rebellious heartthrob in the first one.
Junger planned this sequel with Andrew Lazar, the original producer, and they've got some pretty damn good ideas brewing. As if that wasn't enough, this isn't just a one-off deal. The duo is planning a whole trilogy, with the subsequent titles, "10 Things I Hate About Marriage" and "10 Things I Hate About Kids".
So, what can we expect from the much-anticipated sequel? Well, it's gonna be inspired by Molière’s play "The Misanthrope" from 1666, just like its predecessor was a modern retelling of Shakespeare’s comedy, "The Taming of the Shrew".
Julia Stiles, who played the feisty Kat Stratford, is on the producer's radar, and Junger can't wait to work with her again. He acknowledges that Stiles has touched the lives of millions of women, and Kat's character resonated with young women in a powerful way.
Now, the question on everyone's mind—will Heath Ledger make a cameo? Well, wrap your minds around this: according to Junger, including a nod to Ledger is a wonderful idea and it's a hell yes from him!
