Wolfenbüttel: Food Festival Takes Visitors on a Global Culinary Journey This Weekend

Wolfenbüttel's Schlossplatz hosts a global street food festival this weekend

Streetfood on Tour is rolling into Wolfenbüttel this weekend, transforming the Schlossplatz into a bustling international food market from Friday through Sunday.

According to event organizer Alex Veranstaltungen GmbH, around 30 food trucks and street food stalls will turn the square into a vibrant hub of global flavors. The menu spans everything from gourmet burgers and Mexican specialties to smoky barbecue, Ugandan matoke (cooked plantains), peanut sauce, rice, and traditional dumplings—alongside Chinese bao buns and Latin American grilled skewers (brochetas). Classic festival favorites like hand-held flatbreads, spiral potatoes, fries, and mac 'n' cheese will also be on offer. For those with a sweet tooth, treats include churros, Dutch poffertjes (mini pancakes), chocolate-dipped fruit, and freshly made Thai rolled ice cream, alongside ice cream specialties, coffee, and a variety of drinks.

Live Irish Folk on Stage

Entertainment is part of the package: On Saturday, the band Peaky Pluckers will bring festival vibes to the stage with Irish folk and other musical influences. Beyond the music, a cozy street food market with seating areas and drink stands invites visitors to relax and linger. Families can enjoy extra attractions, including a bungee trampoline for kids.

The festival opens on Friday from 2 PM to 10 PM, Saturday from 11 AM to 10 PM, and Sunday from 11 AM to 8 PM. Admission is €3 for a day pass and €5 for a weekend ticket; children under 13 enter free.
