West Delaware and Lisbon dominate in high school golf tournaments this week

From record-low scores to clutch team wins, this week's golf tournaments proved why these local schools are rising stars. See who led the leaderboards.

BOYS GOLF-

West Delaware and Lisbon dominate in high school golf tournaments this week

Beckman Catholic hosted an invitational at the Dyersville Golf and Country Club. West Delaware won the meet with a 291 as the Hawks carded individual and team best for an 18-hole meet. Cascade was 3rd with a 294, the host Blazers were 5th with a 321, Monticello 6th with a 323. Medalist honors went to Colson Mersch with a 67, runner-up was Brady Schlemme of Cascade with a 69, 4th Blake Mather with a 70, Cougars Bryce Carroll and Luke Schockemoehl with a 72 and 74 respectively. The Hawks Macoy Roling was 10th with a 75.

In Williamsburg at the "Tater Tough" invitational, Anamosa finished 4th with a 333. Garrett LaDue shot a 76 for 5th place.

GIRLS GOLF-

Three coverage area teams traveled to the Maquoketa Country Club to take part in a 9-team meet. Lisbon won it with a 344, Beckman Catholic was 3rd with a 402, a 413 for cascade in 4th place and West Delaware 5th with a 436.

BOYS SOCCER-

Beckman Catholic was defeated by Maquoketa 3-1.

GIRLS and BOYS TRACK & FIELD-

The high school portion of the 116th Drake Relays begins today at Drake Stadium in Des Moines. The relays are a multi day track and field event that brings together athletes from all levels of the sport, ranging from elementary and middle school students, to world class Olympians. Drake University has been the host of the event since its inception in 1910.

Girls shot put at 5pm:

Boys 3200 at 5:56pm:

Girls 3,000 at 6:11pm:
