Unseasonably warm autumn week ahead with Saharan dust haze
Monday Kicks Off Mild and Sunny with Highs of 12–16°C
The week began with mild, sunny weather, as temperatures climbed to between 12 and 16 degrees Celsius across lowland areas, accompanied by up to 10 hours of sunshine. For those who enjoy warmth and plenty of sun, the forecast promises more of the same all week long.
Tuesday: Mostly Sunny with Patchy Morning Fog
According to forecasts, Tuesday will bring localized fog in low-lying areas, with visibility reduced up to 500–600 meters. MeteoNews predicts the mist will clear by late morning, however, giving way to bright sunshine—even in southern regions. Temperatures are expected to reach around 15°C, with slightly higher readings in the sunniest spots.
Mild, Sunny Week Ahead
High-pressure conditions will dominate for the rest of the week, though mornings may still see isolated patches of fog that should dissipate by midday. Otherwise, skies will remain mostly clear, with only occasional high-level or fair-weather clouds.
Temperatures will stay well above average for this time of year, with northwestern Switzerland and sun-exposed slopes occasionally exceeding 15°C. In the mountains, the freezing level will rise to roughly 2,600–2,800 meters starting Thursday.
Saharan Dust on the Way
Saharan dust is already present over southwestern Europe and the Mediterranean, and by the second half of the week, it will drift into Central Europe and the Alpine region. The dust may slightly haze the air and contribute to increased cloud cover in places.
