Brace Yourself for a Southern Cyclone Bringing Downpours, Lightning Storms, and Dust Devils
Gird your loins, folks! A southern cyclone's making its way across Kazakhstan, and it's gonna bring some chaos with it. From May 6 to 8, we're staring down the barrel of rainstorms, thunder claps, hail attacks, and dust devils in parts of the country.
The west, northwest, and north of the republic are in line for rainy and stormy weather starting May 6, with the central, eastern, and southern regions expecting stormy skies from May 8 onwards. On May 6-7, watch out for heavy rain in the West Kazakhstan and Atyrau regions, on May 7 in Mangystau, and on May 7-8 in the Aktobe region. Only the Karaganda region seems to be staying clear, thank goodness.
Dust storms are brewing in the southwest of the country and, from May 8, in the southeast.
Temperature Rollercoaster
Get ready for a wild temperature swing, folks. On May 6, temperatures in the Pavlodar and Abai regions, and May 6-7 in the East Kazakhstan region may dip below freezing at night.
During the day, temperatures will dance around like a junkie on a sugar high. The west will see temperatures drop from a heatwave high of 23-30°C to a more manageable 21-26°C. Meanwhile,up north, east, and northwest, temps will rise from 20-25°C to a steamy 24-29°C. The center of the country will scorch at 27-35°C, while the south and southeast will reach temperatures so hot they might just melt your ice cream, folks—up to 38°C.
