TNT Tropang Giga one win from PBA Finals after Game 5 domination

TNT Tropang Giga now stands just one win away from the PBA Season 50 Commissioner’s Cup finals. The team took a 3-2 lead over the Meralco Bolts after a dominant Game 5 performance. A victory in Game 6 on May 31, 2026, would secure their spot in the championship round. Chris McCullough delivered a standout performance in Game 5, dropping 42 points to push TNT closer to the finals. The Tropang Giga now hold the advantage in the best-of-seven series, with their key players—McCullough, Calvin Oftana, Rey Nambatac, Roger Pogoy, and Jayson Castro—leading the charge.

Meralco, however, still has a chance to force a Game 7. Their roster features experienced players like Patrick Gardner, Chris Newsome, CJ Cansino, Cliff Hodge, and Chris Banchero, who will need to step up to extend the series. Game 6 is set for May 31, 2026, the same day as the other semifinals decider between Rain or Shine and Barangay Ginebra. That match will tip off earlier at 5:15 p.m., while TNT and Meralco will face off later in the evening.

A win in Game 6 would send TNT straight to the finals. If Meralco pulls off a victory, the series will go to a decisive Game 7. The outcome will determine who advances to compete for the Commissioner’s Cup title.
