The Boys finale nears as Vought Rising explores Stormfront's dark origins

The final season of The Boys is nearing its climax, with the penultimate episode airing next Wednesday. Meanwhile, the upcoming spin-off Vought Rising will delve into the origins of Stormfront and Soldier Boy—two of the franchise’s most controversial characters. Stormfront, played by Aya Cash, first appeared in The Boys Season 2 as a new member of The Seven. Her character was later exposed as Clara Vought, the wife of Vought founder Frederick Vought, and a secret white supremacist with Nazi ties. Her electrokinesis powers, including the ability to generate lightning, made her a formidable foe.

Vought Rising will explore her past relationship with Soldier Boy, portrayed by Jensen Ackles. The series confirms that Soldier Boy once had feelings for Clara, long before she became Stormfront. However, showrunner Eric Kripke has made it clear that the spin-off will not soften her extremist beliefs or ask audiences to sympathise with her.

Kripke also ruled out any retconning of Stormfront’s motivations. Her ideology remains unchanged: she is a Nazi and a white supremacist, and the story will not alter that fact.

The final season of The Boys wraps up soon, with its finale premiering in 4DX cinemas on May 19 before landing on Prime Video the following day. As The Boys heads toward its conclusion, Vought Rising promises to expand the lore of its most divisive characters. Stormfront’s extremist roots and Soldier Boy’s complicated history with her will take centre stage—without revising her established ideology.
