Teen detained for reckless scooter escape in Vladivostok traffic stop
Traffic police in Vladivostok have detained a 16-year-old boy for reckless scooter riding near Nevsky Street. The teenager now faces administrative charges after refusing to stop and attempting to flee from officers. His parents have also been held responsible for failing to supervise him properly.
The incident began when officers spotted the boy riding a Yamaha Jog ZR scooter without a licence. He performed dangerous manoeuvres, putting other road users at risk. Despite repeated orders to pull over, he ignored commands and tried to escape.
Police eventually stopped the teenager and impounded the scooter. Authorities confirmed he had no legal permission to operate any vehicle. His parents were later deemed liable for neglecting their parental duties. This case follows a recent ruling in the Dalnerechensk District Court, where two 15-year-old boys were sentenced for attempting to steal a car. The latest detention highlights ongoing concerns about underage driving and vehicle-related offences in the region.
The 16-year-old now faces administrative penalties for driving without a licence. His scooter remains confiscated, and his parents must answer for their lack of oversight. The case serves as a reminder of the legal consequences for both minors and guardians in such incidents.
