Taldykorgan invests 5.7 billion tenge to upgrade heating infrastructure by 2024

Taldykorgan is upgrading its heating infrastructure with a major investment of 5.7 billion tenge. The funds, approved by Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov, will complete a new boiler plant and expand heating networks in the city’s Southwest residential district. Construction is already underway, with key projects set to finish later this year. A new boiler plant with a capacity of 49 Gcal/h is being built in Taldykorgan at a cost of 11.1 billion tenge. The facility is currently around 60% complete and is expected to be operational by September. Alongside this, heating networks for the Southwest district are being laid and will be ready by autumn.

The projects aim to improve heating reliability for the city’s growing areas. Once finished, the new infrastructure will supply heat to 120 apartment buildings and 17 social, commercial, and public facilities. These include the BOLASHAK, KÖKTEM, BIRLIK, and KULAGER microdistricts. Taldykorgan’s existing system already includes 10 boiler plants with a combined capacity of 400 Gcal/h and 179 kilometres of heating networks. The expansion will create extra reserve capacity, easing pressure on the current setup and ensuring a more stable heat supply for new developments.

The upgrades will provide a reliable heat source for thousands of residents and businesses in Taldykorgan’s newest districts. With completion scheduled for later this year, the projects are set to enhance the city’s heating infrastructure and support its continued growth.
