Sweden crushes Euro Hockey Tour with 29-point dominance ahead of Worlds

Sweden’s hockey team has claimed the Euro Hockey Tour title after dominating most of the season. Their strong performance across four stages secured first place with 29 points, well ahead of rivals Czechia and Finland. The victory also strengthens their position as Europe’s top team before the World Championship begins. The tournament featured four teams after Russia’s suspension from competition. Sweden won the first three stages outright, establishing an early lead. Their only setbacks came in the final Stockholm leg, where they finished third after suffering two losses.

Finland took victory in the Stockholm stage, earning seven points. Despite this late success, they ended the season in third place overall with 15 points. Czechia secured second place with 16 points, while Switzerland finished fourth with 12 points. Sweden’s consistent results across the tour ensured they topped the standings by a wide margin. Their dominance in earlier matches proved decisive, even with a weaker finish in the final round.

The early title confirms Sweden’s strength in European hockey ahead of the World Championship. Their 29-point total leaves them far clear of the competition, with Czechia and Finland trailing behind. The team now enters the next tournament as the continent’s top-ranked side.
