Ahead of the Summer Season, Sochi's Central District to Open New Padel Tennis Court at Mayak Beach

Sochi's coastline gets a major summer upgrade with new beaches and sports hubs

A new sports facility—a padel tennis court—will open at Mayak Beach in Sochi's Central District as the summer season approaches.

Mayor Andrei Proshunin noted that nearly 41 kilometers of coastline are being upgraded this season, including over 180 beaches and extended promenades in every district of the resort. By summer, 11 new beach areas are set to open—nine in Lazarevsky District and two in Khostinsky District.

According to emergency services, there is no oil pollution threat to Sochi's waters. Monitoring teams, together with the State Inspectorate for Small Vessels (GIMC) and the Emergency Situations Department, are overseeing water and beach conditions. All official beaches are being prepared in line with the Choose Sochi initiative, which ensures high standards of amenities, a unified design, and quality service.

In addition to the padel tennis court, municipal beaches will feature multifunctional sports zones, outdoor gym equipment, and beach volleyball courts.
