Fomin Likely to Miss Russia's Friendly Against Mali

Russia's friendly against Mali overshadowed by Fomin's injury doubts

Dynamo Moscow midfielder Daniil Fomin is highly unlikely to play in Russia's upcoming friendly against Mali, national team coach Viktor Onopko has revealed.

According to Onopko, the player has no serious injury, but his participation remains doubtful due to a severe bruise. The coaching staff continues to monitor his condition closely.

"Most likely, Fomin will not take part in the match against Mali. It's nothing serious, but he suffered a bad bruise," Onopko told Match TV.

The coach also emphasized that the game will be far from easy, despite any expectations to the contrary. He described Mali as a strong opponent, dismissing the notion that Russia should be expected to win convincingly in such matches. The friendly between Russia and Mali is scheduled for March 31 in St. Petersburg.
