Primorye driver faces criminal charges after tractor crash injures bus driver
PrimaMedia, March 30 – Investigators have completed the probe into a traffic accident in Primorye's Chuguyevsky District. A 41-year-old local resident faces charges of violating traffic rules resulting in grievous bodily harm, the regional press service of Russia's Interior Ministry reported.
According to investigators, the driver of a Shacman SX42586V385 tractor unit towing a CAB 93182RC6 trailer was traveling along the Uborka–Samarka–Ariadnoye road in Chuguyevsky District, heading from the village of Chuguyevka toward Samarka. He allegedly failed to pay proper attention to road conditions, disregarding ice and packed snow on the pavement, which caused his vehicle to skid. The skid sent the truck into oncoming traffic, where its trailer collided with a PAZ 320530-02 bus traveling in the opposite direction.
The crash left the 59-year-old PAZ driver with injuries classified as grievous bodily harm.
The suspect has been placed under travel restrictions and ordered to maintain proper conduct. The criminal case, along with the approved indictment, has been forwarded to court.
Recall that in 2025, road accidents in Primorye claimed 235 lives—a 2.4% decrease from the previous year. Yet the statistics reveal alarming trends: federal highways have grown more dangerous, and the number of crashes involving drunk drivers has risen.
