Omsk braces for wild weather swings: heat, rain, and gusty winds ahead

Omsk is set for a week of dramatic weather shifts, from scorching heat to heavy rain and strong winds. The forecast shows temperatures swinging between 15°C and 30°C within days, followed by a sharp cooldown and downpours by mid-May. The month will begin with unusual warmth. On May 1, temperatures will soar to 30°C, the highest of the week. The following day, May 2, brings a slight dip to 23°C, but skies will remain clear.

A sudden chill arrives on May 3, with highs plummeting to 15°C. The cold spell continues as May 4 and 5 see temperatures of just 19°C and 16°C, accompanied by steady rain. A brief recovery follows, with May 6 warming to 21°C. The weekend of May 7-8 will feel like summer again, with highs of 27°C both days. Warmth lingers into early next week, with 25°C on May 9 and 24°C on May 10. But by May 11, gusty winds of 13-15 m/s will sweep through the region. The week ends with a sharp turn. From May 12-13, temperatures fall back to 21-22°C, and heavy downpours are expected to dominate the forecast.

The coming days will bring extreme weather swings for Omsk residents. After early heat and mid-week rain, strong winds and heavy showers will close out the period. The forecast suggests keeping umbrellas and light jackets on hand.
