Moscow's spring arrives as snow melts and temperatures climb

Warmer weather will return to Moscow on April 23, Anatoly Tsygankov, head of the crisis management department at Roshydromet, told reporters. His remarks were cited by the Moscow City News Agency.

Despite the chilly start to the week, temperatures are expected to climb to 13°C (55°F) by Thursday. According to the forecaster, rain is likely on Monday and Tuesday, but warmer conditions will gradually return afterward.

"Thursday will be cloudy with light rain, with highs of 8–13°C (46–55°F). On Friday, temperatures will again range from 8–13°C, with occasional light rain," Tsygankov said. He added that rain is also expected over the weekend, though temperatures will remain steady at around 11–14°C (52–57°F).

Earlier, Alexander Shuvalov, head of the Meteo forecasting center, confirmed that Moscow will not see any further snowfall.
