Live Classical Performances Stream Beethoven and Tchaikovsky to Regional Audiences
Live broadcasts of two major classical performances will take place at the Volga-Vyatka branch of the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts. The events, streamed directly from Moscow’s Zaryadye Hall, will showcase both orchestral works and a full opera production. Musicologist Ksenia Anufrieva will open the broadcasts with introductory remarks before each performance begins. The programme kicks off with Ludwig van Beethoven’s five symphonies, performed by the La Voce Strumentale Orchestra. Based at the Nizhny Novgorod State Academic Opera and Ballet Theater, the ensemble will play under the direction of Dmitry Sinkovsky.
A highlight of the event is Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky’s opera *Eugene Onegin*. The State Academic Russian Choir, named after A.V. Sveshnikov, and the Moscow State Symphony Orchestra will bring the piece to life, conducted by Ivan Rudin. Leading roles will be sung by guest soloists Nadezhda Pavlova, a soprano from the Nizhny Novgorod Opera and Ballet Theater, and baritone Alexey Markov. Pavlova, known for her performances in Nizhny Novgorod, joins the cast alongside Markov, who takes on the title role. The opera’s staging follows the symphonic programme, offering audiences a full evening of classical music.
The broadcasts will connect regional audiences with performances from Moscow’s Zaryadye Hall. Anufrieva’s pre-concert talks will provide context before each segment. Both the symphonies and the opera will be presented in full, with leading musicians and vocalists taking part.
