Kuwait cracks down on 11 camps for environmental law violations

Director of Public Relations and Media at the Authority, Sheikha Al-Ibrahim, told Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) that the campaign was carried out jointly by the three entities to ensure compliance with environmental requirements and prevent violations of the Environmental Protection Law.

As a result, violations were issued and camps found in breach of the law were removed, reports Al-Rai daily..

Al-Ibrahim explained that 11 camps were cited for violations under Articles 33, 40 and 41 of the Environmental Protection Law, which relate to littering, the use of construction materials harmful to the natural environment, and failure to comply with environmental regulations.

She noted that Article 33 of the law explicitly prohibits the dumping of garbage or waste of any kind outside designated containers, stressing the Authority's firm stance against practices that damage the environment and desert ecosystem.

The Environment Public Authority reaffirmed its commitment to continue inspection campaigns in coordination with relevant authorities to protect Kuwait's natural environment and ensure strict enforcement of environmental laws.
