Khabarovsk Krai reschedules spring cleanup after heavy snow delays event

The administrations of Komsomolsk-on-Amur, as well as the authorities of the Nikolayevsk and Ayano-Maysky municipal districts, have decided to postpone the regional spring cleanup day. As reported by the Khabarovsk Krai Today news agency, the decision follows a recent cyclone that brought heavy snowfall across the region.

The new date for the spring cleanup in these municipalities has been set for April 30. By then, snowdrifts are expected to be cleared—partly thanks to a forecasted warming trend in Khabarovsk Krai next week. Local authorities are urging residents to take part in the large-scale effort to tidy up their communities.

The annual regional spring cleanup is traditionally held to prepare streets, parks, squares, and other public spaces in Khabarovsk Krai ahead of Victory Day celebrations. Special attention will be given to memorials—obelisks, monuments, and their surrounding areas.

The event will also include outreach on local improvement projects, which Russian passport holders can vote on until June 12. Trained volunteers will engage with residents to provide information and gather feedback.
