Kairi Sane's emotional farewell to WWE sparks fan outpouring
Shortly after voicing her support of former WWE star Kairi Sane, who was let go in the latest round of releases, backstage correspondent Jackie Redmond deleted her post.
Redmond initially joined the hashtag "#WeWantKairi" on X, formerly Twitter, pushing for WWE to rehire her. This sort of vocal response helped WWE bring R-Truth back in 2025, so maybe it'll work for Sane.
The post has since been deleted, though Redmond did repost Iyo Sky's lengthy response to the news. That is still visible on her profile. It's unknown why she deleted her post about Sane.
Kairi Sane breaks silence after WWE release
After the news of Sane's release was broken, she took to X to thank her fans and supporters. The post has gone viral, with nearly two million views to date. She promised that she would "set sail" on her "own time."
"I'm truly grateful to have people like you by my side. Thank you for always being with me," Sane wrote. "I'll set sail... in my own time [sailboat emoji.] Until then... I love you [red heart emoji.]"
Her longtime tag team partner, Asuka, responded to Sane's post. She promised that "No matter what, I'll always be in your corner." She doubled down, saying, "I'll never leave you feeling alone."
This comes despite their on-screen conflicts. Before her release, Sane was stuck in an abusive relationship with Asuka. All signs pointed to Sky trying to help Sane out of the situation. However, due to her release, that storyline may never get a proper ending.
Sane's release comes a couple of years after her return to WWE in 2023. Previously, Sane was with WWE from 2016 to 2021 before leaving after her contract expired.
When she returned to WWE in August 2023, Sane joined the Damage CTRL stable alongside Sky, Asuka, Bayley, and Dakota Kai. She remained in the stable until it was disbanded following Kai's release.
