Jackson Holliday makes triumphant return to Orioles after injury hiatus
Jackson Holliday has returned to the Baltimore Orioles after months on the injured list. The highly touted infielder was reinstated on Monday, just in time for the team’s series against the Tampa Bay Rays. His comeback follows surgery on his right hand in March and a lengthy rehab process in the minors. Holliday had been sidelined since March 22 due to the injury. He spent the following months recovering and playing rehab games across the Orioles’ farm system. Over 22 minor league appearances this season, he batted .176, recording a double, triple, home run, and five RBIs.
Before his activation, Holliday showed signs of improvement with the Triple-A Norfolk Tides. He hit a triple on Sunday and a home run the day before. The Orioles officially activated him before Monday’s game, allowing him to take part in pregame warmups. The 21-year-old made his mark in 2025, his first full major league campaign. He finished with a .242 average, 17 home runs, and 55 RBIs. His return adds depth to the lineup, with Jeremiah Jackson covering second base and batting seventh in the same game. Holliday is the son of seven-time All-Star Matt Holliday. His family ties and early promise have made him a key player to watch as the Orioles push forward in the season.
The Orioles now have Holliday back in action after a four-month absence. His presence strengthens the roster as they face the Rays. The team will look to his experience and potential to contribute in the coming games.
