InStyle Gen Z relaunches with Olivia Dean cover and expanded print run
"InStyle Gen Z" premiered in May of last year, marking BurdaVerlag's bid to prove that print media can still resonate with the 13-to-28 age group. The experiment appears to be a success: According to the publisher, the launch issue sold 36,000 copies, and in 2026, the InStyle spin-off will hit newsstands twice. The first issue of the year is already available as of Saturday, March 28, featuring British singer and Grammy winner Olivia Dean on the cover. "InStyle Gen Z" has a print run of 95,000 copies and retails for €4.90.
Once again, an "Editorial Board" of young representatives from the target demographic contributed to the magazine. The board includes Carlott Bru, Carlo Sommer, Johannes Bullinger, Sarah Hartmann, and Noutcha Lopes. Editorially, the project is overseen by InStyle's editor-in-chief, Sophie Grützner-Hajek, and her deputy, Bianka Morgen.
Elfi Langefeld of BurdaVerlag frames the increased frequency as "a clear strategic statement", noting: "We can see that InStyle doesn't just appeal to Gen Z—it holds real relevance for them: as a guide in a fast-moving world of trends, as a curator of fashion, beauty, and lifestyle, and as a trusted brand."
Coinciding with the release of the second print issue, BurdaVerlag is launching the fourth season of the video podcast "InStyle Gen Z – Come Sit With Us", offering "exciting trend insights from the editorial team and conversations with Gen Z stars." The new season will consist of ten episodes.
