Troodos opens Sun Valley I slope as ski season begins cautiously

According to an update by Kitasweather, based on information from the management of the Troodos Ski Centre, the first ski slope at Troodos officially opened yesterday, Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at 10:00 a.m.

The slope that opened is Sun Valley I (Aphrodite). The decision was taken following snowfall over the past 24 hours, as the depth and quality of the snow are considered sufficient for the safe operation of this specific slope.

As regards the remaining ski slopes, there is currently insufficient snow cover. Since no significant snowfall is forecast in the near future, it remains unclear when-or if-these slopes will open this season.

In addition, the North Face lift will operate daily from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., allowing visitors to enjoy a walk and the panoramic views from higher elevation. It is noted that the lift will not be used for skiing purposes on this slope.
