Hit-and-run leaves eight-year-old injured near Primorsky Krai school

A near-tragic incident occurred on April 21 in the village of Lipovtsy, Oktyabrsky Urban District. An eight-year-old boy was struck by a car outside School No. 2 at 5 Pushkin Street after being pushed onto the road by a peer. The driver fled the scene, according to a statement from the Russian Interior Ministry's regional branch for Primorsky Krai.

"The injured student sustained scrapes to his knee and elbow," the report stated.

Police have launched an administrative investigation under two articles of Russia's Code of Administrative Offenses: Part 2 of Article 12.27 (leaving the scene of an accident) and Part 1 of Article 12.24 (traffic violation resulting in minor bodily harm).

The driver's identity remains unknown, and authorities are actively searching for them.

Particular attention is being paid to the actions of the boy's classmate, whose behavior led to the child ending up on the road. Case materials will be forwarded to the Commission on Minors' Affairs to assess whether the parents have fulfilled their child-rearing responsibilities. If negligence is confirmed, the parents could also face administrative penalties.

According to Primorsky Krai's traffic police, 51 accidents were recorded in the region over the past 24 hours, with six resulting in injuries. Among the victims were two minors.
