Celebrating 140 Years: The Rhön Traditional Brass Band Hilders Invites You on a Musical Journey Through 2026

To mark its 140th anniversary, the Rhön Traditional Brass Band Hilders is inviting music lovers of all ages to join a musical voyage through the year 2026.

Under the successful direction of Martin Kram, the band—which continues to evolve and is a member of the Rhön Music Association—has welcomed new members in recent years and now boasts around 40 active musicians.

The anniversary concert, "1,000 Measures of Brass Music," will kick off the spring celebrations in style, taking audiences on a nostalgic journey through the decades.

Concertgoers can look forward not only to fresh arrangements and extraordinary soundscapes but also to unforgettable classics from years gone by. The evening will even feature a few amusing anecdotes from the lives of the musicians.

The event will also showcase historic costumes, photographs, and awards from the band's long and storied past.

As a musical prelude to May, the concert will take place on April 30, 2026, starting at 8:00 PM in Hilders' Ulstersaal hall—admission is free.

The festivities continue in summer with "Brass Music in the Wine Village" on August 15, 2026. From 2:30 PM well into the evening, visitors can enjoy nonstop "handcrafted brass music" in the courtyard behind Hilders Town Hall.

The next day, August 16, a relaxed "Morning Pint in the Wine Village" begins at 11:00 AM, offering another chance to gather in good company.

The autumn highlight comes on October 10, when the band welcomes "absolutBLECH", the renowned Austrian party band from "The Woodstock of Brass Music." Following a performance by the MV Döngesmühle ensemble, absolutBLECH will bring energy and cheer to the Ulstersaal. Doors open at 6:00 PM, with advance tickets priced at €17.
