Noel Gallagher, the iconic guitarist of Oasis, played a unique and custom-built 1960 Les Paul Standard during the band's reunion shows. This guitar, with its aged body, neck, and back, is not a traditional signature model but a limited edition custom-built replica.

The black Les Paul Standard features nickel-covered P-90 pickups and a light aged ebony finish from the Murphy Lab, replicating the exact instrument used by Noel on the Live ’25 tour. Gibson Custom crafted this one-of-a-kind guitar, with only 25 replicas available exclusively through the Gibson Garage London. Each guitar comes hand-signed by Noel Gallagher and includes handwritten lyrics of classic Oasis songs.

Lee Bartram, head of commercial, marketing, and cultural influence at Gibson EMEA, shared insights into the design process of this custom-built guitar in an interview with The Gibson Gazette. The SlimTaper neck, Custom Shop P-90s, and Light Aged magic from the Murphy Lab were carefully selected to create a guitar that perfectly complements Noel's playing style.

While the black Les Paul Standard is closely associated with Noel and celebrates his reunion tour, it is not a standard signature model with mass production and broad availability. Instead, it is considered more a custom limited edition model.

For those who are interested in owning a Gallagher guitar but prefer a more budget-friendly option, the signature Epiphone Riviera might be a suitable alternative.

The control knobs on the custom-built Les Paul Standard appear to have undergone the Light Aged treatment, but it's hard to tell from Instagram photos. The pickguard and control knobs are black, and the tuners are grovers with kidney bean-style buttons.

The Gibson Gazette also interviewed Lee Bartram to provide information about the upcoming exclusive release of the black custom-built 1960 Les Paul Standard guitar. It will be available from Gibson Garage London on August 21st.

Interestingly, Gallagher sent the guitar back for additional aging after its initial creation, further enhancing its unique character. The aged-nickel covers on the P-90s were challenging for Gibson to recreate, but the result is a guitar that perfectly encapsulates the spirit of Oasis's reunion shows.

In conclusion, the black custom-built 1960 Les Paul Standard guitar played by Noel Gallagher during Oasis's reunion shows is a special piece, both a custom piece and a collector's item linked closely to Noel's Live ’25 performances with Oasis.
