Can Mozart really make you smarter? A satirical musical cabaret dives in

In his musical cabaret show "Music Makes You Smart! (Except Some of It)", award-winning Berlin pianist and satirist Christoph Reuter takes his audience on a whirlwind tour of the world of music.

With a mix of sharp insight and wit, his "music lesson" tackles some of life's most pressing questions: Does listening to Mozart actually make you smarter? Will it finally help you grasp Einstein's theory of relativity—or at least understand your mother-in-law? We'll put it to the test.

Why is it that I can never remember the second verse of "O Tannenbaum" but instantly recall every stupid thing my coworker said to me last week?

Questions abound, and in his latest musical cabaret, Christoph Reuter offers answers—accompanied by works from Bach, Mozart, Avicii, and Miles Davis. "Music Makes You Smart! (Except Some of It)" proves you're far more musical (and maybe even a little smarter) than you think.

Reuter is the winner of the 2017 Thuringian Cabaret Award and the 2022 Leverkusen Cabaret Prize. For over fifteen years, he has accompanied Dr. Eckart von Hirschhausen on piano.
