Brazilian and Argentine films shine at the 13th Platino Awards

The 13th Platino Awards celebrated the best in Ibero-American cinema and television last night. The Brazilian film The Secret Agent dominated the ceremony, taking home seven prizes, while the Argentine series The Eternaut secured eight wins of its own. The Secret Agent led the film categories with key victories. Kleber Mendonça Filho claimed both Best Director and Best Screenplay for his work on the project. Wagner Moura was named Best Actor in a Film for his role in the same picture. The film also won Best Ibero-American Fiction Film, solidifying its success.

Other standout winners included *Apocalypse in the Tropics*, which took Best Documentary Film. *Olivia & the Clouds* was awarded Best Animated Film, while *The Dinner* won Best Ibero-American Comedy. In the acting categories, Blanca Soroa received Best Actress in a Film for her performance in *Sundays*.

The awards highlighted a strong year for Brazilian and Argentine productions. The Secret Agent and The Eternaut emerged as the night’s biggest winners, collecting a combined 15 trophies. The ceremony recognised talent across multiple genres, from drama and comedy to animation and documentary.
