Bothel hit by fierce storm as firefighters tackle nine emergencies

A severe thunderstorm struck Bothel on Friday evening, bringing powerful gusts and chaos to the region. Nine separate incidents kept local fire brigades busy, though no injuries were reported in any of the emergencies. The storm’s strong winds uprooted trees across the area, leaving federal and district roads blocked. Firefighters worked quickly to remove the obstructions and secure the affected zones, ensuring traffic could move safely again.

In Ostervesede, a fire broke out during the storm, adding to the challenges. The Hemslingen volunteer fire brigade stepped in to help contain the blaze. Meanwhile, in Brockel, a residential home suffered minor damage from the harsh weather.

All nine incidents were resolved efficiently thanks to smooth coordination between the local fire departments. Crews managed to clear roads, extinguish the fire, and stabilise the damaged property in a short time. The storm left no serious injuries, but its impact was widespread. Roads were reopened, fires were put out, and damaged structures were made safe by the evening’s end. Local emergency services confirmed that all affected areas had returned to normal by late Friday.
