BAFTA TV Awards Crown Adolescence as Record-Breaking Champion

The BAFTA TV Awards took place at London’s Royal Festival Hall, hosted by comedian Greg Davies. This marked BAFTA’s first televised event since the Film Awards, which drew attention after broadcasting campaigner John Davidson’s racial slurs. The ceremony saw Adolescence dominate the night with a record-breaking performance.

Adolescence entered the awards as a frontrunner, having already won at the Emmys and Golden Globes. Expectations were high, and the series delivered by securing four prizes—more than any other show in a single BAFTA TV Awards ceremony.

Stephen Graham took home Best Leading Actor for his role in the drama. Supporting Actor awards went to Owen Cooper and Christine Tremarco, both recognised for their contributions to the series. The final win came in the Best Limited Drama category, cementing *Adolescence* as the most decorated programme in the event’s history. Before this, no series had ever won more than three awards in one night at the BAFTA TV Awards. The show’s success set a new benchmark for future ceremonies.

The ceremony concluded with Adolescence making history as the first series to claim four BAFTA TV Awards in a single evening. Its victories in acting and drama categories highlighted its critical acclaim. The event also marked BAFTA’s return to live television after a controversial previous broadcast.
