Austin Adams ascends to the presidency of Warner Chappell Music Nashville branch
Austen Adams, a respected figure with over two decades of experience in the music industry, has been appointed as the president of Warner Chappell Music (WCM) Nashville. The announcement was made by WCM co-chairs, CEO Guy Moot and COO Carianne Marshall, who expressed their excitement about what Adams will bring to the songwriting community.
Adams' career in entertainment law involved extensive legal representation in the music industry, and alongside that, he gained substantial experience managing artists. This background will be invaluable as he takes on his new role at WCM Nashville, starting from September 15.
Prior to joining WCM, Adams spent six years as the chief operating officer of Big Loud's publishing and records divisions. During his tenure, he played a significant role in building services for songwriters and artists, strengthening creative strategy, and driving growth. The company's staff expanded from under 30 to more than 100, and Big Loud's stable of hitmaking songwriters have earned three Grammy awards and 90 No.1 hits to date in the US.
Moot and Marshall stated that Adams is a respected figure with industry relationships and a comprehensive understanding of both the creative and commercial aspects. They believe that he will carry on the commitment, integrity, and humanity of Ben Vaughn's legacy at Warner Chappell.
Adams' vision at WCM includes championing storytelling, protecting creativity, and helping songwriters share their visions. He expresses his admiration for the work done by Vaughn and the WCM team, and is honored to be entrusted with leading the next chapter at Warner Chappell.
In his legal work, Adams represented both artists and executives, negotiating and structuring records and publishing deals and joint ventures. He has worked with a variety of artists, including Morgan Wallen, Hardy, Miranda Lambert, Ernest, and Stephen Wilson Jr.
Adams is expected to contribute to nurturing the culture in Nashville and finding global opportunities for its talent. He is eager to begin this new chapter and looks forward to working with the WCM team.
