Astranis Secures $300M to Fuel Satellite Production and Global Expansion

Astranis has raised $300 million in a Series E funding round, pushing the company’s valuation to $2.8 billion. The satellite manufacturer also secured an additional $155 million in delayed-draw credit from Trinity Capital to expand production. The latest funding round was co-led by Snowpoint Ventures and Franklin Templeton. Other participants included Andreessen Horowitz, BlackRock, Baillie Gifford, and Fidelity Management and Research Company. With this round, Astranis has now raised over $1.2 billion in total.

The company plans to use the new funds to accelerate spacecraft manufacturing. Current contracts include a MicroGEO communications satellite for Taiwan and another for Oman. Additionally, Astranis is working on the Space Force’s Protected Tactical Satellite Communications-Global program and the Space Systems Command’s Resilient GPS initiative. Astranis is also involved in SSC’s Andromeda program, further expanding its portfolio of government and commercial missions.

The fresh capital will support Astranis in scaling up production to meet growing demand. With multiple high-profile contracts already in place, the company is positioning itself as a key player in both commercial and defence satellite communications.
