Altai Territory braces for a heat spike followed by sharp cooldown

The Altai Territory is set for a brief but sharp rise in temperatures over the next few days. After a warm spell, a noticeable cooldown will follow, with no rain expected throughout the period. On May 2, temperatures will peak across the region. The Altai Territory will see highs of +21…+26°C, while the foothills could reach +31°C. In Barnaul, residents can expect +24…+26°C.

The warmth will be short-lived. By May 3, readings will drop to +17…+22°C in most areas, with Barnaul cooling to +17…+19°C. The downward trend continues on May 4, when temperatures settle between +15…+20°C regionally, and Barnaul records +16…+18°C.

Winds will remain variable and gusty during this time. Speeds may hit 15 metres per second, adding to the changing conditions. The forecast confirms dry weather for all three days. After a brief warm surge, cooler air will return by midweek. Residents should prepare for shifting temperatures and strong gusts.
