Altaienergo, a Rosseti Siberia Subsidiary, Completes Overhead Power Line Reconstruction

Altai Republic's upgraded power line beats floods, secures reliable electricity

As part of the reconstruction, specialists relocated a 35-kilovolt (kV) section of the power line away from the flood-prone zone near the Katun River, enhancing the reliability of electricity supply for consumers during seasonal flooding.

The 35 kV Srostinskaya–DSF overhead transmission line provides power to the Verkh-Katunskaya crushing and sorting plant's substation in the Biysk District. This substation, in turn, supplies electricity to residents of Chuysky Village. The total length of the line is 15.6 kilometers. Engineers relocated 3.6 kilometers of the line to the opposite side of the federal R-256 Chuysky Highway, installing 27 new supports and stringing over 10 kilometers of cable.

Work was carried out at an accelerated pace to complete the project before the spring floods. The reconstruction included a crossing over the federal R-256 Chuysky Highway, where reinforced steel anchor poles and heavy-duty conductors were installed, explained Alexey Dobrenko, director of the Eastern Electric Networks division at Altaienergo, a Rosseti Siberia subsidiary.

The completed upgrades not only improve power supply reliability for local residents and the plant but also create capacity for connecting new consumers. The reconstruction of the Srostinskaya–DSF transmission line cost approximately 50 million rubles.
