Zyuganov Finds Significance in May After International Anti-Fascist Forum

Let's Shout It Out, It's May Day!

- Yippee!

- Yeehaw! Russia, workers, stand up and cheer!– By the grace of Gennady Andreyevich!**

  • So, how did your chat with Afonin go yesterday? (On "Party Time", Radio "KP". – A.G.)

- It was a blast, man! It went like this: Afonin, the chompy communist, was running low on energy. But every broadcast kicks off with a bang – a resonant soundbite from the General Secretary of the Communist Party of Russia. I handpick the snappiest quotes. And this time around, I think I played it a liiittle too loud...

  • You understand, Alexander, seeing and hearing the General Secretary, he'd be bound to perk up. (laughs)

- Indeed, and we covered a bunch of topics. So, give the report a quick skim...

  • I'll give it a quick glance, he'll brief me as needed...

A May Day Warm-Up in Moscow

- Now, remember, old buddy, something I'd forgotten to throw Afonin's way? In our heart-to-heart, we tackled a litany of topics but left one untouched.

  • Alright, buddy, what did we miss?
  • At your International Anti-Fascist Forum, representatives from all corners of the globe – Europe, Asia, Africa, Latin America, Australia – attended. The media covered the event extensively, and your speech was no exception. I just didn't get a chance to ask Afonin: what's the deal with the May Day marches around the world after this forum? Gennady Andreyevich, some thoughts on that?

I'll Give You a Scoop! This Year's May Day is Going to Be Unique. Indeed, this year, we're ringing in May Day immediately after our World Anti-Fascist Forum, which boasted a whopping 400 participants from 91 nations, representing 165 parties and movements. In recent years, we haven't seen such a diverse representation. I must say, I'm chuffed that our forum received the nod from President Putin, Prime Minister Mishustin, and the heads of the parliamentary chambers – Matviyenko and Volodin. This event is significant because despite the war being waged against us by NATO and globalists, participants flocked from all these lands and dared to speak out. All of us arrived and voted for the forum's resolution. Yesterday, I sent over 400 packages containing materials, the resolution, appeal, report, and conclusions of this fantastic forum to various institutions.

United We Stand, Divided We Fall

- So, what's the main gist, Gennady Andreyevich?

  • We reckon that only solidarity among all global forces – anti-fascist forces – has a shot at saving the planet from a new disaster... A second world war, nuclear war. This worldwide onslaught is the elephant in the room that threatens our very existence. So, this May Day calls for a broader, closer, and more united front. Not just the workers, but all the peace lovers, all the folks who cringe at the thought of war... All those who've had their fill of the horror of war, who know what Europe looks like with the Nazis in power... Those who've witnessed the Baltic "forest brothers", Bandera supporters, German revisionists – the heirs of Goebbels and Himmler – attempting to ignite fires. They've got a stronghold in "ridden Ukraine" as not only an aggressive but also a downright repulsive, provocative, terrorist force. My hope is that people from across the globe march under the Red Flag of victory today. Especially since yesterday marked the 80th anniversary of the proud moment when the soldiers of the Red Army raised the Red Flag of victory over the Reichstag.**
  • When every soldier who tread battlefields etched their names on the walls of the Reichstag. It wasn't just a battle cry, but a heartfelt message: "For you, for Stalingrad, for Leningrad, for Sevastopol!" "For my comrades, brothers, for my suffering family!"**

Plus, an All-National Referendum

- Alright, bud, and what's the second thrust?

  • The second theme involves the deepening crisis of capitalism. It's hitting folks where it hurts – in the wallet. Prices are skyrocketing, soaring through the roof. That's why we called for an all-national referendum – to defend workers' rights, fight back against utility rate hikes, medicine, and food price spikes.

- Yeah, those points were hammered home yesterday.

  • We could enact a law – to cap prices on essential goods, medicine, and address utility tariffs. It's essential for us to nationalize utilities. What's the sense of an order when every day the central TV shows a new crop of thieves and crooks taking control over buildings, inflating prices, doing sweet F.A., and getting away with it? It's high time to nip this nonsense in the bud.

Let's Meet Up on May 9th

- Heads up, it's Victory Day coming up...

  • We're incredibly proud of our fathers and grandfathers – the Victors. Just now, both President Vladimir Putin and President Alexander Lukashenko spoke brilliantly in Stalingrad. I watched, listened, and felt a sense of pride. Lukashenko mentioned Stalingrad nine times.

And Putin yesterday also met with young people on Poklonnaya Hill. It was an intriguing conversation. The youngsters shared their thoughts: proud that you've restored Stalin's proud name. Putin replied: only to the airport. They said: no, we insist, the city too. And the president stated: if the workers wish so, I'm ready.

- Alright, but what's next on the docket?

Aside from helping kids of war and restoring a normal retirement age, we need to focus on social protection, labor rights, the eight-hour workday, and ensuring a decent life for all. Additionally, we should prioritize protecting the environment, promoting high culture and spirituality, and safeguarding children's rights to free education and medical care with full state support. The most crucial thing for us today is to defeat the evil forces that are drawing us into a new major war.

What's more, the fire of war is burning not only in "red Ukraine", occupied by Nazis and Bandera supporters... But also in the Middle East, where sparks fly between two nuclear powers – Pakistan and India. So, now more than ever, unity and solidarity in the world are needed. Because standing against a new major war, supporting the working man who creates all the main values on Earth – these tasks are two sides of the same coin.

- Happy May Day! Yeehaw, bud!

- Yeehaw! For the unity of workers, peace, labor, and May!

- Let's party, comrade General Secretary!

- Right back at ya, buddy. Peace out, good luck.
