Zlatan Ibrahimovic's admirer, Benjamin Sesko, is claimed to surpass Erling Haaland's abilities and may transfer to Arsenal in an estimated £90m summer deal.

Arsenal Pursue Benjamin Sesko Deal Amidst £90million Valuation from RB Leipzig

In a significant transfer development, Arsenal have initiated talks with RB Leipzig over the potential acquisition of striker Benjamin Sesko. The Slovenian international scored 21 goals across all competitions for Leipzig in the 2024/25 season, sparking Arsenal's interest.

Previously, Arsenal expressed tentative enquiries about Sesko's availability in January, but a move did not materialize. However, Leipzig are reportedly seeking a substantial fee of over £90million for the 21-year-old.

Given Mikel Arteta's pressing need for a striker, it would not be surprising if Sesko ends up at the Emirates Stadium before the transfer window concludes. Sesko joined Leipzig two years ago and has shown immense promise, with a promising future ahead.

Standing at 6ft 4in, Sesko combines physical presence with remarkable technical ability and lightning speed. His performance has drawn comparisons to Manchester City's Erling Haaland, with teammates at Leipzig likening the two. Sesko spoke about the comparison when he was at Salzburg, stating, "Such comparisons motivate me and give me energy. They do not represent pressure. I will listen and learn so I can be even better than he is."

Sesko admires Haaland's playstyle but his role model is another iconic forward, Zlatan Ibrahimovic. He looks up to Ibrahimovic for his enjoyment of the game and his ability to do what he wants on the pitch.

Team-mate Yusuf Poulsen, a Danish international who has played with Christopher Nkunku and Rasmus Hojlund, considers Sesko the best striker he's partnered with. In 2024, Poulsen said, "He's the best I've played with. If you look at his abilities, he has everything a top number nine needs. He's still young, he still needs to learn, not the technical things about being a striker but maybe more the finesse side. He has everything, strength, shooting, technique, everything. I like working with him and I'm trying to get him there - he'll go on and score a lot of goals for us and some point go to the club he'll love to play for."

Last season, Sesko opted against a potential Premiere League move by penning a new contract at Leipzig. The contract includes a variable release clause, creating the possibility of the £90million fee being negotiated depending on Sesko's performances.

It remains to be seen if Arsenal can meet Leipzig's asking price and secure the signature of this exciting young talent, but one thing is for certain - Sesko possesses immense talent and potential that is ready to be unlocked.

  1. Arsenal's pursuit of Benjamin Sesko points to a potential shake-up in the football world, as they aim to secure the Slovenian star who could be the next Erling Haaland.
  2. Despite the £90million valuation set by RB Leipzig, the Premier League could soon witness a new record-breaking transfer, given Mikel Arteta's desire for a formidable striker.
  3. In the world of sports, the F1 racing circuit and the MMA octagon may seem worlds apart, but they could later share the limelight with a successful transfer of Benjamin Sesko to the Premier League.
  4. With Arsenal's interest in Benjamin Sesko, manager Mikel Arteta aims to strengthen his squad and challenge top teams in the world cup and other prestigious football tournaments.
