Zion Williamson of the Pelicans implicated in a rape allegation in a recent court document submitted in LA.

In a shocking development, New Orleans Pelicans star forward Zion Williamson stands accused of rape, kidnapping, and terrorism in a lawsuit filed against him in Los Angeles Superior Court. The lawsuit, presented by the legal team of the plaintiff, referred to as Jane Doe, alleges that Williamson subjected her to sexual, physical, emotional, and financial abuse throughout their multi-year relationship, spanning from 2018 when they were both freshmen at Duke.

According to the court documents obtained by TMZ, the first alleged incident occurred in September 2020, when Williamson returned home late and demanded sexual acts from the accuser, who refused. The lawsuit claims that he then pinned her hands behind her back, forced himself upon her, threw her phone across the room, and choked her.

The second incident is said to have taken place in October 2020, after the plaintiff expressed plans to visit a friend in San Diego. The lawsuit alleges that Williamson then raped her, took her phone and computer to prevent her from seeking medical care or reporting the incident, and even held her captive in his Beverly Hills home.

The lawsuit further describes a "continuing pattern of abusive, controlling, and threatening behavior" over the course of the relationship, with incidents occurring in Louisiana and Texas, in addition to California.

When reached for comment, Sam E. Taylor of The Lanier Law Firm, representing the plaintiff, stated that while they did not want to litigate the case through the media, it is a "very serious case as reflected in the pleadings that have been filed." The plaintiff looks forward to her day in court to seek justice in this matter, according to Taylor.

However, Williamson's legal team has since responded to the allegations, stating that they are taking the lawsuit "with the utmost seriousness" and unequivocally denying them. They claim that the two never dated but did maintain a consensual, casual relationship that began when he was 18 years old. Williamson's legal team also alleges extortion attempts by the plaintiff, which they have reported to law enforcement in the past, and plan to file counterclaims and seek significant damages for what they label as a "defamatory" lawsuit.

The Pelicans and the NBA, Williamson's employer, have yet to comment on the situation. Speculation surrounding Williamson and potential trades for the Pelicans has been a hot topic in recent weeks, with the star forward under contract with the team through the 2027-28 season and set to earn $39.4 million next season.
