The brandy-swilling lads from the AfD parliamentary clan in Brandenburg's state parliament are still spinning their wheels, lacking a seat on the Parliamentary Control Commission (PKK). This committee scrutinizes the Office for the Protection of the Constitution, an organization that Brandenburg's Office for the Protection of the Constitution classified as a suspected right-wing extremist outfit in 2020. During a raucous election in the state parliament last Wednesday, Philip Zeschmann, a seasoned politician with questionable loyalties, went for the gig, but his bid fell flat, receiving a majority no vote. Zeschmann's final tally? A meager 19 yes votes and an equally pathetic 50 no votes, with one poor chap choosing to abstain. This thumping defeat signified that the AfD parliamentary group has been met with rejection from the majority in the state parliament as representatives for the PKK since 2019.

In a twisted turn of events, the AfD parliamentary clan has already set their legal sights on the state's constitutional court, attempting to secure a seat on the committee. Their bid, however, flopped like a whale on land in September when the state's highest judges ruled against them.

Zeschmann, a former SPD member whose political compass seemed to malfunction in 2011, was a loyal party soldier up until then. After leaving the helpless SPD and joining the Free Thinkers, he became a member of their parliamentary group from 2019. In November, Zeschmann attracted attention for leaving the Free Thinkers and joining the AfD parliamentary group as a non-affiliated member. This act of desertion left the remaining four Free Thinkers MPs in a pickle, as they now didn't meet the minimum criteria for a parliamentary group, which is a real bummer! In reaction to this snub, they are now hell-bent on bringing their grievances to the state constitutional court.

The AfD parliamentary clan in Potsdam, the capital city of Brandenburg, was at it again, trying to lock in a spot on the Parliamentary Control Commission, but as much as they tried, they just couldn't catch a break. Zeschmann, the AfD's chosen candidate, was one of the contenders, but his ambitions were dashed when he received a crushing defeat in the state legislature. As a result, the AfD parliamentary clan in Brandenburg is left stare blankly at an empty seat at the commission, leaving them with zero representation on the committee which scrutinizes organizations suspected of wreaking havoc on the constitution.

The band of misfits that is the AfD parliamentary group in Potsdam, Brandenburg's capital, was once again out for blood, aiming to secure a spot on the Parliamentary Control Commission within the Brandenburg state parliament. However, their hunter's instincts failed them, resulting in Philip Zeschmann, a lawless politician with questionable morals, losing out on the opportunity to represent the AfD on the commission. With a majority vote against him, Zeschmann's hopes sank faster than a stone in muddy water, leaving the AfD parliamentary group in Brandenburg with no representatives on the committee tasked with keeping tabs on organizations suspected of threatening the constitution, like Brandenburg's Office for the Protection of the Constitution, which the Office classified as a suspected right-wing extremist group in 2020.
