The enthralling ascent of basketball titans, Franz and Moritz Wagner, is under the lens of ZDF's documentary crew. A four-part series is being produced, shedlighting their humble beginnings in Berlin, their initiation into the NBA, Germany's path to the World Championship title, and their current NBA season leading up to the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.
Capturing their journey, ZDF's crew already filmed them at this year's Asian World Championships. Currently, they're documenting the brothers' play with Orlando Magic in the NBA, United States.
Bettina Schausten, ZDF's Editor-in-Chief, shares her excitement, stating, "Spotlighting remarkable athletes, 2024 is a year of documentaries featuring us on TV and in our media library. This new project showcases the successful duo from Berlin, launched in the American NBA, promising the same thrill in NBA coverage as in German basketball."
The Wagner brothers expressed their elation, commenting, "We're thrilled to share our everyday lives and professional basketball experiences. Basketball has shaped our lives, and we aim to make it more popular in Germany. This documentary series presents a golden opportunity to do so."
Bound for broadcast in the second half of 2024, four 45-minute episodes are planned.
Originally hailing from Berlin, Franz Wagner shares an intriguing profile, while Moritz Wagner offers a captivating story as well.
